In the Fall of 2018 the DOT (department of transportation in New York City) presented plans for the reconstruction of an important portion of the BQE (Brooklyn Queens Expressway... an important highway carrying hundred of thousands of vehicles daily). The repair work is necessary, but their plan involved creating a “temporary” (minimum 6 years)  6 lane highway on the Brooklyn Height Promenade, literally feet from the homes of thousands of residents. The neighborhood immediately protested this objectionable plan, and the BHA (Brooklyn Heights Association) commissioned these images to be used as posters for people to put up in their windows, buttons, web illustrations and signs and flyers to hand out at rallies.
